Private Flute Lessons

I teach privately out of my music studio in my home in Aurora, Colorado. Punctuality is important as I book back-to-back lesson times on the hour and half hour.

 

On lesson nights, the front door will be unlocked. You may come in early, take out your flute and wait on the bench.

I take students at any age from beginners to adults. I will cater the lesson based on the students' goals. I am eager to help students learn better technique and skills to make them the best flutist they can be whether their goal is to move up a chair in band, make it into the district honor band, audition for college or play for pleasure! I feel that my specialty lies in helping middle school and high school students work on difficult music from band, prepare for honor band all-district and all-state auditions, solo and ensemble and/or prepare for college auditions. It is also my job to select appropriate repertoire/songs and scale and method books for my students to ensure they are playing music that is both challenging and appropriate for their level. Above all else, students will laugh and feel understood and valued in lessons. 

 

2024 - 2025 Lesson Schedule

Lessons will begin the week of August 12th, 2024 and will end the week of May 12th, 2024.

Our end of the year recital will be on Saturday, May 17th at 11:00 am. Place TBD.

 

Rates

Lessons are $40 for a half hour, $60 for 45 minutes and $80 for an hour. I also offer group lessons or duo lessons at a

discounted price.

Payment

There are several payment options for private lessons. I will customize and add up the amount of weekly lessons that we will have for the months of August through May (minus breaks, holidays and any dates you tell me you will need to miss) and give you the total cost of your lessons for the year. You then have the following options for payment:

  1. You may pay it all in one lump sum.
  2. You may divide the full amount into 2 half payments and pay each semester. This means one will be due in August and the other in January.
  3. You may make monthly payments. (Please note that this number will be based on the total amount of lessons for the year and NOT the total amount of lessons each month, therefore your monthly payments will always be the same regardless of the number of lessons you have each month) 

EXAMPLE 1 - 30 minute lesson 

36 lessons X $40 each = $1,440

Option 1 = Pay $1,440 in full for the year

Option 2 = Pay $720 in August and $720 in January

Option 3 = Pay $144 a month from August to May

EXAMPLE 2 - 45 minute lesson

36 lessons X $60 each = $2,160

Option 1 = Pay $2,160 in full for the year

Option 2 = Pay $1,080 in August and $1,080 in January

Option 3 = Pay $216 a month from August to May

EXAMPLE 3 - 1 hour lesson

36 lessons X $80 each = $2,880

Option 1 = Pay $2,880 in full for the year

Option 2 = Pay $1,440 in August and $1,440 in January

Option 3 = Pay $288 a month from August to May

Acceptable forms of payment include:

Personal Check, Credit Card, Zelle or Bill Pay from your bank or Venmo

LATE FEE: Payments are due on the 1st of the month. If a payment is received later than the 7th, you will be charged a $20 late fee.

Missed Lessons

If your student needs to miss a lesson, I require a 24 hours advanced notice in order to not lose your pre-paid amount. Unfortunately, if you need to cancel on the same day of a lesson, I will have to count that and you will not get a refund or make-up for the lesson. This also applies to snow days or inclement weather.


The reason for this is that with 24 hours notice, I have the ability to try to re-arrange other students to fill your space, however, with day-of notice I am unable to do that. Please understand that in addition to this being my passion, it is also part of my livelihood and personal business so I appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
